The Furry Tails Staff

Piia Pratt

Piia Pratt is a co-owner of Furry Tails, and started in the grooming industry in 2013. She has a Barkleigh First Aid & CPR certification, as well as a Pet Tech First Aid & CPR certification AKC SAFE Handling Certification. She has her Salon Sanitation certificate, as well as the IV San Bernard Skin from Dr. Cliff Faver and Coat Certificate, and the ISCC Skin and Coat Certificate. 

Every year she attends the New England Grooming Show to continue her education in pet grooming. . In April of 2019 she also attended Intergroom in New Jersey. 

She is a master colorist and does amazing color work on dogs. Her favorite breed to groom is Poodles. She has two furry companions, Rufio, a Cattle Dog mix, and Tilde, a Pomeranian. Her boy Remi was the inspiration for the dragon on the Furry Tails logo, and he watches over her from the Rainbow Bridge.

Anjie Coates

 

Anjie Coates is co-owner of Furry Tails, and started in the grooming industry in 1989. She’s a member of the New England Pet Grooming Professionals, President of the Massachusetts Association of Pet Professionals, the Association of Holistic Pet Professionals and is a Certified Pet Tech First Aid & CPR Instructor #2383, a Certified Master Rabbit Groomer, a Certified Advanced Cat Groomer, and a Certified Canine Esthetician. Every year for decades she has attended the New England Grooming Show and has a lifetime membership to Intergroom in New Jersey to continue her education and improve her skills in the grooming industry. 

She has her Temporary Color & Accessory certification and enjoys airbrush coloring on the dogs. She has her Salon Sanitation certificate, as well as the IV San Bernard Skin and Coat Certificate, and The Science of Skin Learning Series, as well as Skin Assessment Certificate from Dr. Cliff Faver, and the ISCC Skin and Coat Certificate. She grooms the cats at Furry Tails, has a Compassionate Cat Grooming certification, and is an IPG Certified Advanced Cat Groomer, as well as Master Holistic Feline Stylist from the state of New Hampshire. As the only Certified Master Rabbit Groomer in New England she also grooms the bunnies, and they always do very well with it. She's also a Master Rabbit Groomer from the state of New Hampshire. She won the ASPCA Humane Award in 2002 for her help in rescuing Woodsie the Beagle. 

She shares her passion for grooming with other pet professionals when teaching classes for Pawsitive Educational Training. She also teaches at the Whole Pet Grooming Academy in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in order to help the next generation of groomers learn the best practices for the industry. She gives numerous online seminars for groomers on cat, rabbit and small mammal grooming. Her favorite breed to give a haircut to is Bichons.

The Professional Groomer's Credentialing has approved her Salon Sanitation and her Customer Service and Customer Relations course as PGC Approved Education for Credentialed Groomers. She taught this course at the Atlanta Pet Fair, a trade show for other groomers in 2022. She will also teach rabbit grooming at Groom Expo Hershey and the New England Grooming Expo in 2022. 

She is the author of "The Quintessential Rabbit Book" due out in October 2022.

Some of her passions in the industry are personal safety for all groomers, safe and compassionate holistic cat grooming, safe holistic rabbit grooming, and educating groomers on how to properly groom rabbits. She also prides herself on keeping her salon as clean and sanitary as you would hope any human spa would be, and would love to see this become the standard for every salon in the grooming industry. 

She shares her life with her Pug PJ, and Alister, the kitty in shining armor on the Furry Tails logo. The female Pug was her Pug "G" who has passed on to the Ranbow Bridge.

Christie Blaine

Christie Blaine joined the Furry Tails team shortly after we opened. She can be seen in her all pink grooming station as you enter the spa at the end of the waiting room. Roxanne her Dachshund is our doorbell and does her best to alert us when clients enter and need our attention.
Christie has an AKC SAFE Handling Certification. She's a member of the New England Pet Grooming Professionals, and has been grooming for 23 years. She has her Salon Sanitation certificate, as well as the IV San Bernard Skin and Coat Certificate from Dr. Cliff Faver and the ISCC Skin and Coat Certificate. She also has the Pet Tech First Aid & CPR certification.  Every year she attends the New England Grooming Show to continue her education in pet grooming.  In April of 2019 she also attended Intergroom in New Jersey.
She has a great love of all four legged critters and treats them all like her own. Her favorite breed to groom is the Cocker Spaniel.
She has two furry companions, Zeus & Venus.

Angela "Angie" Connors

Angela “Angie” Connors is a Certified Bather Brusher, a member of the New England Pet Grooming Professionals, and a PRG Rabbit Groomer, and a member of the International Professional Groomers and usually the first face you see at Furry Tails. 

She has an AKC SAFE Handling Certification. She's a member of the New England Pet Grooming Professionals. She has her Salon Sanitation certificate, as well as the IV San Bernard Skin and Coat Certificate from Dr. Cliff Faver, and the ISCC Skin and Coat Certificate. She is a certified in Compassionate Cat grooming. She also has her Pet Tech First Aid and CPR Certification.  Every year she attends the New England Grooming Show to continue her education in pet grooming. In April of 2019 she also attended Intergroom in New Jersey. 

She is well versed in bunny grooming, and will always be found assisting in them as she owns Bun Bun, a happy rabbit that is a frequent visitor to the shop. She also owns Bailey, a sweet Shepherd mix that loves to go for long walks in the woods. She returned to the grooming industry after taking some time off but found this was her passion. She specializes in cats and rabbits and found these small friends to be her joy.

Ashley Setterlund

 Ashley is a 2020 graduate of Becker College with a degree in Animal Science. She began here at Furry Tails in October 2019 and since then has become AKC S.A.F.E. Certified, has her AKC Safe Handling Certification and received her Bather/Brusher Certificate, as well as passing her Level 1 Small Mammal Certificate. She also passed her COVID-19 certification training and test from Professional Pet Groomers, Barbicide and Barbicide COVID-19. She's also a member of the New England Pet Grooming Professionals  and a member of the International Professional Groomer. Most recently she obtained her Pet Tech CPR First-aid and Care certificate. 

She can almost always be found at the tub singing her heart out to one of the dogs. She shares her home with her two cats, Bean and Bentley. She also has a cat, Boots, who is on the Rainbow Bridge. Ashley likes spending her free time outside walking or at the beach with friends. She also enjoys horror movies and true crime.
