Rabbits love to be clean and are regular self groomers. There are a few things rabbits can't do by themselves like nail trimming, scent gland cleaning, and brushing during their quarterly molt.
Rabbit's scent glands can be why your fastidious housemate that's cute and cuddly smells very bad. If these glands aren't cleaned out they can form small blockages that retain a great deal of odor.
Rabbit nails need to be trimmed for them to have comfortable feet.
Oftentimes rabbits need a sanitary trim to keep their backside neat and clean.
Longhaired rabbit breeds can't brush themselves, and oftentimes the amount of maintenance they require gets away from owners. This will require having them shaved down. Because a rabbit's skin is so very delicate it is recommended that shaving of any rabbit be done by someone with experience and the expertise to do it without harming the rabbit.
Occasionally rabbits binge on sweets and end up with the dreaded poopy butt. This is something many owners are unable to rectify for the rabbits. We can assist with this and get your rabbit fresh and clean with a spot cleaning to get them feeling better.
Urine-stained feet are another problem common in rabbits and one we can assist with.

My rabbit has bald spots!
If the bald spots are due to shedding, then it’s not an issue. It will grow back within a week or two. This is not uncommon, especially in short-haired rabbits. This is especially common when the brushing has gotten away from you. They will shed out 4 times a year, every 3 months. These shedding periods are marked by the solstices and the equinoxes. So, you can quickly figure out when your rabbit is going to be shedding by looking at the calendar. You should increase your grooming routine around these dates or schedule your grooming appointment during this time. Please understand it may be 4-6 weeks when you call to get an appointment.
When the rabbits are packed with coat, and a great deal of deshedding needs to be done, it’s not uncommon for them to have some bald spots. For more information on this common issue please visit the House Rabbit Society’s website for information on grooming.
This is not to say that all bald spots are associated simply with the need for grooming, or with shedding. Some balding may be caused by health issues and if that is the case you should visit your small mammal veterinarian.
